 Help Pages - Connect to Wifi

 

 

Choose your device below for the connection guide.

 

All personal devices need to use the DoE_Student wifi network. 

Each day, you also need to visit the website below and log in with your college username and password:

http://webauth.education.tas.gov.au

WiFi access for a Windows laptop

 

Personal devices can be connected to the DoE_Student WiFi network..

 

  1. Click on the Wireless connectivity icon in the bottom right-hand corner 
  2. Select the DoE_Student Network, and click on the Connect button 
  3. You will be prompted to enter your college username and password  
    Eg. Firstname.Surname.00  
  4. If any security alerts pop up, click ‘Connect’ to continue 
  5. Open your internet browser (IE, Chrome, Firefox) and go to:
    http://webauth.education.tas.gov.au
    You will be prompted to authenticate with your college username and password. This will allow you access to the internet for 8 hours.

 

You should now be connected to the DoE_Student wireless network.

If the connection does not work you may visit the IT staff in the Library.

WiFi access for an Apple laptop

 

Personal devices can be connected to the DoE_Student WiFi network.

  1. Click on the Wireless connectivity icon in the top right hand corner
  2. Select the DoE_Student network
  3. You will be prompted to enter your college username and password, once they are entered click ‘Join’ to continue
    Eg. firstname.surname.00  
  4. You will be prompted to Verify Certificate, you will need to click ‘Continue’ to connect  
  5. Open your internet browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) and go to:
    http://webauth.education.tas.gov.au
    You will be prompted to authenticate with your college username and password. This will allow you access to the internet for 8 hours.

 

You should now be connected to the DoE_Student wireless network.

If the connection does not work you may visit the IT staff in the Library.

WiFi access for an Android device

 

Personal devices can be connected to the DoE_Student WiFi network.

  1. Pull down from the top of your screen to access the System Tray
  2. Open the System Tray by tapping on the down arrow, and then tap the WiFi icon
  3. Select the DoE_Student network from the WiFi menu  
  4. You will be prompted to enter your college username in the identity field, and your password, ensure you select ‘MSCHAPV2’ from the Phase-2 authentication drop down menu, and ‘Do not validate’ from the CA certificate drop down menu, once each field is set as shown tap ‘Connect’ to continue.
    Eg. firstname.surname.00  

     
  5. Open your internet browser (Chrome, Firefox) and go to:
    http://webauth.education.tas.gov.au
    You will be prompted to authenticate with your college username and password. This will allow you access to the internet for 8 hours.

 

You should now be connected to the DoE_Student wireless network.

If the connection does not work you may visit the IT staff in the Library.

WiFi access for a new Android device

 

Personal devices can be connected to the DoE_Student WiFi network.

  1. Pull down from the top of your screen to access the System Tray
  2. Open the System Tray by tapping on the down arrow, and then tap the WiFi icon
  3. Select the DoE_Student network from the WiFi menu  
  4. You will be prompted to enter your college username in the identity field, and your password, ensure you select ‘MSCHAPV2’ from the Phase-2 authentication drop down menu, and ‘Use System Certificates’ from the CA certificate drop down menu, once each field is set as shown tap ‘Connect’ to continue.

    You will be prompted to authenticate with your college username and password. This will allow you access to the internet for 8 hours.

WiFi access for a Samsung device

 

Personal devices can be connected to the DoE_Student WiFi network.
 

  1. Pull down from the top of your screen to access the System Tray
  2. Tap and hold on the WiFi icon, and release to open the WiFi menu  
  3. Select the DoE_Student network from the WiFi menu  
  4. You will be prompted to enter your college username in the identity field, and your password, ensure you select ‘MSCHAPV2’ from the Phase-2 authentication drop down menu, once each field is set as shown tap ‘Connect’ to continue
    Eg. firstname.surname.00
  5. Open your internet browser (Chrome, Firefox) and go to:
    http://webauth.education.tas.gov.au
    You will be prompted to authenticate with your college username and password. This will allow you access to the internet for 8 hours

 

You should now be connected to the DoE_Student wireless network.

If the connection does not work you may visit the IT staff in the Library.

WiFi access for an iOS device

 

Personal devices can be connected to the DoE_Student WiFi network.

 

  1. Open the ‘Settings’ application
  2. Select the ‘Wi-Fi’ menu item  
  3. Select the DoE_Student network  
  4. You will be prompted to enter your college username and password, once they are entered click ‘Join’ to continue  
    Eg. firstname.surname.00
  5. You will be prompted by a Certificate, click ‘Trust’ to continue  
  6. Open your internet browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) and go to:
    http://webauth.education.tas.gov.au
    You will be prompted to authenticate with your college username and password. This will allow you access to the internet for 8 hours.

 

You should now be connected to the DoE_Student wireless network

If the connection does not work you may visit the IT staff in T214
